Scissortail Park Wins Prestigious Engineering Recognition


The iconic Scissortail Park in Oklahoma City has received major engineering recognition, highlighting the project as a landmark achievement in modern urban development and infrastructure design.

The park earned the Public Works Project of the Year award in the Structures category from the American Public Works Association. The award recognizes outstanding public infrastructure projects that demonstrate excellence in engineering design, project management, and collaboration among government agencies, contractors, and consultants. The winning category included projects with budgets exceeding $75 million, reflecting the scale and complexity of the development.

In addition to the APWA recognition, the project was also honored by Engineering News‑Record as one of its Best Projects in the Landscape/Urban Development category, acknowledging the park’s innovative design and engineering execution.
